Mahmoud's musical adventures

I play WITH 3 instruments

I say WITH because I consider my musical instruments as my toys. They are my source of joy, creativity, and connection with others.

My musical adventures

Here are some of my musical adventures with the Nai, Oud, and Piano (& the occasional Melodica).

Playing the Nai at CERD

It was a spontaneous thing. I had my Nai with me while at a meeting at CERD (the Center for Educational Research and Development) and was asked to play it to a group of trainees in an adjacent room. It didn't turn out to be a total disaster thankfully!

Playing the Nai with Oxford Maqam

What a gig it was, playing the Nai with Tarek Bashir (Oud), Martin Stokes (Qanun), Giles Lewin (Violin), and Gökhan Yücel (Tabla) at the Jericho Tavern (Oxford, June 25, 2009)

Playing the Melodica in the 'library's courtyard'

98weeks Project Space. 'Tomorrow in the library's courtyard' by Walid Sadek: Walid Sadek (Melodica), Naji Assi (Melodica), Gheith Al-Amine (Melodica), Mahmoud Natout (Melodica) and Assil Ayyash (Voice).
